Homemade Spa Mask
Spa day? Let’s go (sorta).
This is a really easy food activity that I thought would be fun and relaxing for adults and toddlers. Homemade spa mask for kids? Let’s go. Between us adults, we all need a moment to chill and check in with our own bodies, right? Well…I’m not going to lie, putting homemade avocado mask on my own face grossed me out a bit. Maybe it was because I left the avocado a little chunky? So please proceed with this one with caution. Even if you just put cucumbers over with your eyes and use a commercial product, this is still fun!
Will it work for your toddler? Let’s try.
The preparation side of this one is quite minimal.
You and your little one get to see an avocado transform from something chunky to smooth and paste-like. (Eliminating the chunks is the key!) Measuring and mixing are two skills to practice as you follow these instructions.
Once your face mask is ready, it’s time to chill.
I loved this one because it forced me to sit down and scan my body. You can even try to lead your little one through a guided meditation and check in on your little one. Can’t chill for 10 minutes? No problem, bring out a story or try some restorative yoga.
Benefits to your skin
One more thing to mention. This homemade spa mask for kids works wonders on your skin! Avocados are tasty to eat but they also have some super benefits for skin. Honey has benefits too! In general, they both are natural moisturizers, and can help your skin glow. You can add lemon if you’d like, this brightens skin. Plain yogurt adds some acne-fighting benefits.
Before you get started
If you are allergic to anything or your skin is super sensitive, you can check a little bit of the mix on your little one’s inner wrist before you wipe it all over faces. If anything stings, wash it off!
Your skin will thank you. Seriously, mine was pretty soft after the mask!
